Student Housing
We are uniquely advantaged to find opportunities in the student housing market that others could miss. Through strategic partnerships and an eye for efficiencies, we identify prime properties and engage quickly in all market conditions. Even in the selective urban markets surrounding universities, we can create tremendous value through our agility and structural design.
NYU
At Corigin, we take tremendous pride in our 20+ year housing partnership with NYU, a world renowned private research university.
80 Lafayette
Designed by architect William E. Austin, this 1915 Neo-Gothic tower cuts a significant presence in the New York City Downtown landscape. Since its conversion to dormitory use in 1999, Lafayette Hall (as it is known by its NYU student inhabitants) has been home to approximately 1,100 students year-round, making it one of the largest student housing facilities in the city.
Situated at the convergence of the Tribeca, SoHo and Chinatown neighborhoods, the location is highly dynamic and convenient, with all the offerings of downtown Manhattan readily accessible. Highly sought-after by upper-class students, 80 Lafayette’s rare features including generous amenity and common space, spacious units with exceptionally high ceilings and unobstructed panoramic city views, make it unique among NYC student residences.
In addition to the NYU tenancy, 80 Lafayette also serves as the home base for Corigin’s facilities and property management team, housed in a recently completed state-of-the-art management office and workshop.
321 Bowery
Constructed in 2002, 321 Bowery (aka Second Street-NYU) is a purpose-built student housing facility located at the nexus of the Greenwich Village, East Village and NoHo neighborhoods of Downtown Manhattan.
Since its completion, the 12-story property has been master-leased to NYU. Comprising 171 units, 321 Bowery can house up to 300 students. The property features an amenity floor directly below the lobby level, including a recently modernized communal lounge, game room with TV and pool table, music practice rooms, dance rooms, an art room, bike storage, and study room with computer lab.
UC Berkeley
In partnership with San Francisco-based Panoramic Interests, we recently delivered 2539 Telegraph Avenue, a premenient student housing property in the heart of UC Berkeley’s cultural core. At completion, UC Berkeley master-leased 180-beds, serving as the anchor tenant for the property.
2539 Telegraph
Delivered in 2019, The Panoramic Berkeley is a mixed-use multifamily and retail property located in the historic Southside District in Berkeley California. The building comprises 70 fully-furnished apartments and nearly 4,500 rentable retail square feet, but a large component of the 2539 Telegraph serves as undergraduate housing for U.C. Berkeley.
The Panoramic Berkeley is well-positioned on the historic Telegraph Avenue in the center of U.C. Berkeley’s cultural core. Home to many popular restaurants and stores, Telegraph Avenue is frequented by university students, residents and visitors alike, and serves as the central artery of Berkeley University student life. The Panoramic Berkeley is in immediate proximity (less than a third of a mile) to the heart of the U.C. Berkeley campus and is surrounded by U.C. Berkeley-affiliated buildings, campus dining options and residence halls.
Each smartly designed unit features thoughtful student focused efficiency and high quality finishes and furniture, resulting in very positive tenant reception. In addition to the high quality interiors, the property has a roof deck with sweeping panoramic views of the Berkeley campus and the greater Bay Area.
