400 Broome Street,

New York, NY

Situated in Little Italy on the eastern edge of SoHo, 400 Broome Street is located in the heart of an eclectic neighborhood that became an artist’s haven during the 1950s and 1960s. Today, SoHo is a trendy, upscale area that boasts many shops, museums, restaurants, and boutiques.

Originally built as a government office building in 1913, a change in the zoning in 1996 allowed this six-story structure to be converted into residential housing units. In 1997, the building was expanded by adding five floors, comprised of 22 new apartments. There are a total of 108 units in this building, housing over 350 students. All of the units feature hardwood floors, mahogany woodwork, solid oak kitchen cabinetry and marble bathrooms with wainscoting. The property also boasts six retail commercial units on the ground floor and two subcellars containing below-grade parking and storage facilities.
